Your adventure begins as you’re welcomed at Bandaranaike International Airport by your English-speaking chauffeur guide. Travel to Sigiriya, stopping en route at the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its stunning Buddhist murals and statues. Then, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can watch baby elephants being bathed and bottle-fed. In the afternoon, ascend the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress before relaxing at your hotel.
Start your day with an early morning safari in Minneriya National Park, renowned for its herds of wild elephants and diverse wildlife. After your safari, continue to Kandy, the island’s cultural capital. Settle into your hotel and later, immerse yourself in Sri Lankan tradition with a vibrant cultural dance performance.
After breakfast, explore Kandy’s highlights, including the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, a site of deep spiritual significance. Next, board a scenic train at Peradeniya, winding through lush tea plantations to the cool climes of Nuwara Eliya. Your guide will meet you at Nanu Oya station for hotel check-in and a relaxing evening.
Discover Nuwara Eliya’s colonial charm with visits to Gregory Park and Hakgala Botanical Garden. Afterwards, journey to Ella, a picturesque hillside town. In the afternoon, tour Ella’s top sights including Little Adam’s Peak, the Nine Arch Bridge, and panoramic viewpoints.
Depart Ella for Yala, home to Sri Lanka’s most famous national park. After a short rest at your hotel, set out on a 4×4 jeep safari in Yala National Park, where you might spot elephants, leopards, and a variety of other wildlife.
Travel to the southern coast and check in at your beach resort in Mirissa. Spend your afternoon unwinding by the sea and enjoy a fresh seafood dinner in the evening.
Begin with an early morning whale watching tour off Mirissa’s coast (seasonal). Visit Coconut Tree Hill and Parrot Rock Bridge before heading to Galle. Explore the historic Galle Fort and its lighthouse, then continue to Colombo for a taste of the city’s nightlife and shopping.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight, bringing your Sri Lankan journey to a close.
